Literature Text

Similar to an erstwhile woman on a blind date
A great deal of her patience long faded away
Young lovers thus enclose absence the skill to wait

The wrinkles upon her face the penalty of fate
Frowns and creases that little does not convey
Similar to an erstwhile woman on a blind date

Years of leaving lovers for a brand new mate
Teaching a new generation of the same way
Young lovers thus enclose absence the skill to wait

Grandchild raised up and about in a similar state
Her eagerness comparable to decay
Similar to an erstwhile woman on a blind date

She bears a smile however her lips are deflate
One might purloin a glimpse and begin to pray
Young lovers thus enclose absence the skill to wait

Her name a familiar tale, one may well taste with hate
Who on the eve of the end left a path for the youth, straight
Similar to an erstwhile woman on a blind date
Young lovers thus enclose absence the skill to wait
Another piece for class. Enjoy perhaps a villanelle (I love how that word reminds me of villain and vanilla all at the same time). Anyway, thoughts and comments are welcome.

This was inspired by, I would like to add... how less often you see people staying together like my grandparents generation once did. And how that is affecting the generations coming up now, because they are showing signs of being worse and how that ripple affect spreads.

"how less often you see people staying together like my grandparents generation once did". Contributing to a healthy relationship has become so passe these days.
